Content: the plenary meeting of the European Parliament and parliamentary representatives of African, Caribbean and Pacific states (ACP), attended by the representatives of 79 ACP states and just as many members of the European Parliament. The Joint Parliamentary Assembly of the EU and ACP countries is a consultative body that promotes development of democracy through dialogue and consultations, discusses issues referring to development and EU-ACP cooperation, informs public on the importance of development and encourages intercultural understanding, adopts decisions and prepares recommendations for the Council of Ministers, which provide for greater impartiality of the Cotonou Agreement.
