Organizer: The Government of the Republic of Slovenia, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the meetings, the Foreign Ministers have the opportunity to discuss important OSCE related issues, to review and assess the activities of the OSCE and to assure that their operations are in accordance with the OSCE main political goals. The Ministerial Council, which generally takes place in the presiding country, is presided over by the OSCE Chairman.
»… The Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre has at its disposal all the necessary equipment for the organization of high-level congress events, which require a press centre for several 100 journalists, a well functioning information network with 200 or 300 connected working stations and technical solutions to be provided to specific users in a very limited time. A highly motivated and qualified team of professionals is thus very important for the organization of such big events. In the OSCE case, where the number, size of the halls and other rooms for individual activities as well as infrastructural conditions were precisely defined, it was more than obvious that only the Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre was able to fulfil the organizational and infrastructural requirements of the OSCE Secretariat in Vienna.«
Tomaž Kunstelj, former Head of the Diplomatic Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
»Foreign Ministers held speeches at the plenary session and at the conclusion of the Slovenia’s OSCE presidency all day long … Nearly 40 speakers praised the Slovenian presidency and especially the organization of the summit in Ljubljana.«
