The 56th International Home Fair, is the largest specialized fair event in the field of building in Slovenia and the GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre's far largest fair in relation to the exhibition space, number of exhibitors and visitors. This year it has filled the last square metre of the GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre's premises i.e. 20,000 square meters of exhibition space in all existing halls and three prefabricated ones. At the Home Fair, 580 companies from 32 countries in the field of construction, joinery, heating and cooling technology, interior design, landscaping and environment preserving present themselves.

Today, the 9th Conventa, New Europe exhibition for meetings, events and incentives opened its doorat the GR – Ljubljana Exhbition and Convention Centre. This year, a boutique trade show focusing on personal touch will present some records – the highest number of meetings providers attending the show as exhibitors, hosted buyers coming from a record number of different countries from around the globe and a record number of fam trips organized for international buyers. In 2 days, Conventa will host 149 exhibitors from 15 different New European countries who will present its offer to 171 international meetings planners and around 100 regional and Slovenian meetings planners.

October is truly wine coloured month in Ljubljana, specifically at GR -Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre. Tonight at the ceremony Vino Ljubljana we will announce the reworded wines of the 58th International Wine Competition – Vino Ljubljana. The competition is known as one of the oldest in the world. The event which was held in Ljubljana in June 2016 welcomed over 40 tasters from 14 countries with 412 samples from 21 countries. This year, the world wine champions are coming from Macedonia, Slovakia and Slovenia.

In the following weeks, GR, the leading venue for organizing events in Slovenia, will be hosting three large international congresses and four large corpo events. From 25th to 28th September 2016 GR will host EUROGEO – 6th European geosynthetics congress that will bring together around 400 participants from 43 countries and large exhibition of 76 exhibitors from the field of civil engineering and geotechnology. Another large congress in 2016 not just for the GR, but also for Ljubljana will be from 29th September to 2nd October, the 34th FIMS – International Federation of Sports Medicine Congress, expecting over 500 delegates from medicine and sport field. And yet another international medical event from 6th to 9th October will be held at GR- the NMDPD – 11th international congress on non-motor dysfunctions in Parkinson’s disease and related disorders with 500 delegates. The NMDPD congress was brought to Ljubljana by Kenes International, GR’s old partner from the meetings industry.

From 20th until 21st September 2016, GR-Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre hosted 11th Slovenian Innovation Forum with this year slogan “All can be a challenge”. The event, organized by Public Agency SPIRIT Slovenia with financial support of the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology traditionally hosted mayor innovations in Slovenia and innovators. A diverse two-day entrepreneurial and innovation conference program included the presentation of this year 40 top innovation companies and their innovations that were placed on the list of candidates for national awards. A gold award for innovation among others was received by M Sora for passive timber window from thermally modified spruce. M Sora Company is the exhibitor of the Home Fair at GR. Congratulations!

From 24 March to 2 April 2017, the GR - Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre will, after many years, again sparkle with the latest trends in car industry. A glamorous parade of passenger cars will expand on 15,000 square metres of exhibition space. Organizers, the Passenger Motor Vehicles Section at the Chamber of Commerce of Slovenia and the GR - Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre, expect about 100,000 visitors. ‘The main purpose of Auto Salon is to show as many visitors and potential customers as possible a wide range of new cars we market, and in this way to communicate the wider public a very positive message that the most difficult period of economic recession is over,’ Marjan Murn, the president of the section, told media representatives.
