New urban developments planned in the area surrounding GR Ljubljana
The City Council of the Municipality of Ljubljana has adopted the amended draft detailed spatial plan for the Baraga Seminary and GR Ljubljana Congress and Convention Centre area.
The planning document outlines several new developments in the immediate surroundings of GR Ljubljana, including residential units, a hotel, business facilities, additional cultural venues, and new exhibition and congress spaces.
The area between Dunajska, Linhartova and Vilharjeva roads is planned to include several new buildings, among them a hotel, business and residential complex near the intersection of Dunajska and Linhartova roads, as well as a high-rise building near the intersection of Dunajska and Vilharjeva roads, where an additional exhibition and congress hall is also envisaged. The plan also includes an extension of the Baraga Seminary for cultural and educational use, along with other public space improvements.
Around 350 residential units are planned for the area, while the proposal also covers upgrades to transport connections, pedestrian and cycling infrastructure, and public transport arrangements. Special attention is also given to the preservation of cultural heritage, as the area includes several protected buildings and monuments.
