Slovenian wines again among the best

At the 58th International Wine Competition – Vino Ljubljana, organized by the GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre, over 40 tasters from 14 countries chose the most excellent among 412 samples from 21 countries. Once again, Slovenian wines ranked among the best, and Guido Baldeschi, the representative of OIV (International Organisation of Vine and Wine), remarked, “Each year, Slovenian wines increasingly confirm that they are the protagonists of the entire world wine scenario. I strongly recommend all wine lovers to visit this beautiful country and taste its excellent wines!” This year, the world champions are coming from Macedonia, Slowakei and Slovenia. The 58th International Wine Competition – Vino Ljubljana held this month

From 17 to 19 June, the 58th International Wine Competition – Vino Ljubljana will be held at the Ljubljana Castle. This year, they expect about 400 samples from more than 20 countries, which will be evaluated by 40 tasters from Japan, Italy, Macedonia, Germany, Canada, Montenegro, Austria, Czech Republic, Luxemburg, Argentina, Spain, Sweden, Slovakia, and Slovenia from Friday till Sunday. Since 1987, Ljubljana is a city of vine and wine. The international organization for vine and wine from Paris (OIV) granted this title to Ljubljana due to its thousand-year wine tradition as well as to the oldest wine evaluation in the world, Vino Ljubljana, which has been organized by the GR - Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre since 1955.

Vino Ljubljana under VINOFED and OIV

Did you know that Vino Ljubljana is one of 12 major competitions in the world under the VINOFED - the World Federation of Major International Wine and Spirits competitions? At the 58. International Wine Competition VINOFED will be presented by Mr Ghislain K. Laflamme, the president. OIV - International Organisation of Vine and Wine from Paris, will be this year represented by Mr Guido Baldeschi, the Head of Unit Oenology and Methods of Analysis. And did you know Vino Ljubljana is organized according to OIV rules? Absolute anonymity of individual samples is guaranteed, and they are evaluated by worldly renowned tasters with technically the most advanced procedures.

Vino Ljubljana in the Midst of June

The 58th International Wine Competition - Vino Ljubljana, the oldest wine competition worldwide, will be held in Ljubljana, the Green European Capital 2016, from 17 to 19 June 2016. 40 tasters from Japan, Italy, Macedonia, Germany, Canada, Montenegro, Austria, Czech Republic, Luxembourg, Argentina, Spain, Sweden, Slovakia, and Slovenia will be evaluating 450 samples from more than 20 countries. Where? On the Castle Hill rising above the old city core. Vino Ljubljana has been organised by the GR – Ljubljana Exhibition Centre since 1955.

»You were always available for us«

200 participants, among them the European Commissioner for transport Violeta Bulc, Pim van Ballekom, Vice-President of the European Investment Bank, many EU ministers and other high level representatives involved in the planning and financing of transport infrastructure at the national and EU level met on 21 and 22 April 2016 in Ljubljana, at the GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre.

Connecting Europe in Ljubljana, at GR

European Commissioner for Transport, Ms Violeta Bulc, invite high level representatives involved in the planning and financing of transport infrastructure at both national and EU level, as well as numerous project promoters and stakeholders from the financial sector in Central and South East Europe, to a Regional Conference on the Investment Plan for Europe - Investing in Transport in Ljubljana, at GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre on 21 and 22 April 2016.

More visitors than in previous years

The 55th International Home Fair, the biggest international fair for building and construction, not only in Slovenia but also in its surroundings in bordering countries, took place from 8–13 March. In 2015, goods and services for the home, construction, builders’ joinery, heating and cooling technology, interior decoration, home security, and maintaining the surroundings were exhibited on 20,000 square meters in all available halls, three additional prefabricated halls, and on exterior exhibition grounds. With the slogan ‘Key Solutions', we hosted 545 companies from 32 countries. The visitors joined vast accompanying programme and free expert consultations by GI ZRMK (Building and Civil Engineering Institute), Eko sklad (Eco fund) and ENSVET (One world) consultants. The 55th Home was visited by more than 56.000 people, which was more than in previous years.

The right direction, a successful fair

Active green tourism with a business exchange as the focal topic of the fair is the right one, Mrs Eva Podlogar Štravs, acting DirectorGeneral for Tourism and internationalizationat the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, greeted the renovated touristic fair at the GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre. Good public response speaks of the fair’s success, too. The renovated Natour Alpe-Adria Fair, presenting more than 300 tourist providers from 12 countries, was visited by 15,000 people.

26th Ambient Fair attracted 25,000 visitors

At the 26th Ambient Fair, 158 companies from 17 countries presented themselves. The fair which focused on furniture design and exhibition introduced quite a few novelties, especially highlighting the creative power of young Slovenian design, attracted 25,000 visitors.
